Who is Cathy Threadgill?

If someone would ask me to describe myself I would say “I am a Jack of all trades, a master of none, but I know who to call to get the job done.”

I am a CDFA/Paralegal –  CDFA is the acronym for Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.  As a CDFA I assist my clients in coordinating a plan of action that will help them attain an equitable settlement, by producing comprehensive and realistic analysis of their financial situation.  I also trace the separate and community assets to evaluate the marital economic history and determine the net worth of the community estate and value separate property assets.  As a Paralegal I assist attorneys with all areas of a clients cases, including drafting of Petitions, Motions Discovery, and Correspondence; Document Production; Inventory and Appraisement, and case research.

I am an Author –  After 20+ years of being in the field of Family Law and working with individuals going through the worst times of their lives I have taken what I have researched, learned and witnessed and created books that I hope will help individuals and families come through the divorce process healthy, not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.  My first book “Does God Believe in Divorce?” came about from many clients having issues with getting a divorce and believing that it went against their religious upbringing.  Being able to help them navigate the Bible to see that God does not want any of his children living in an unhealthy relationship led many of my clients to tell me that I should write a book.  I finally listened and put my keyboard in God’s hands.

I am a Photographer – My passion for photography has been life long.  At the age of ten I purchased my first camera with money that I earned through baby-sitting.  I love trying to capture the essence of the people and animals I am photographing.  I also find a sense of inner piece when I am photographing nature and architecture.   My professional photographic experiences has spanned some twenty years with commercial works in California, New Mexico, and Texas and has garnered numerous awards.  To see some of my work please visit my website CAThreadgill Photography.

I am the owner/designer of Kooler Kollar® – Kooler Kollar® came about when I was a volunteer at Riding Unlimited, an organization which offers therapeutic horseback riding and carriage driving programs to children and adults with disabilities.  The program is located in Texas, where during the summer the temperatures reaches 100+ degrees numerous days in a row.  On this one particular summer day we were working with children from a group home.  It had been a great session, my rider was so happy to be there, she loved the horse she was on ans was enjoying the experience.  At the end of the session, my rider was standing next to her horse waiting to be dismissed and looking forward to taking her horse outside to remove the tack and to cool down the horse.  All of a sudden, she passed out due to the heat!  I was able to catch her before she hit the ground and kept hold of the horse.  On my drive home I realized I could probably make something for the riders to help keep them cool during their sessions.  During the next week I made up a half dozen of the first Kooler Kollars®.  The students used them at the next session.   At the end of the seesion one of the other horse handlers asked if there was any way I could make something to help keep the horses cool also.  After months of trial and error the first Kooler Kollar for Horses was made and the rest is history.
